How To Reset Your Stealth 700 Gen 2 Headset

The first step to solving any tech problem is turning it off and on again. Another great fix is resetting your tech. Today I’m here to help you reset your Stealth 700 Gen 2 Headset.

To reset your Stealth 700 headset, first, turn it on. With the device on, find the mode and Bluetooth buttons. Push and hold both buttons for roughly 20 seconds. The device will power down. It will be reset after turning it back on.

Now that you know the basic steps for resetting your headset, let’s dive into a more complete explanation. Additionally, I’ll discuss what to do if your headset won’t turn on and how to pair it again.

How to reset Stealth 700 Gen 2 headset

Resetting your Stealth 700 headset is simple. Conveniently, there are options. There are two ways to do it. The first is by pressing buttons on the device itself. The second is by using the desktop software.

Whichever method you use, you will need to pair your headset to the various devices you use it with again.

Option 1

Let’s cover any gaps on the first option. It’s possible to have problems with the very first step. If your headset won’t turn on, read the corresponding section in this article.

If it does, you’ll need to find the Bluetooth button and the mode button. They will be located on the bottom of the headset on one side. The button in the middle is the power button and the two you are looking for are on either side.

Once you find the two buttons, it doesn’t matter which is which. Just hold them both down for 20 seconds. Don’t worry about holding them for too long. The only time it won’t work is if you don’t hold the buttons down long enough.

Once that’s done, just tap the power button to turn your headset back on. Simple as that.

Option 2

That is just one option, however. Option two involves the Audio Hub Updater software on a desktop. This software can be downloaded on Turtle Beach’s website here.

The desktop approach is just as simple as using the first option.

First, connect your headset to your computer with the USB-C cord. If you have the Playstation version, you will also need to connect the wireless transmitter.

After opening the Audio Hub Updater, you should see two buttons: update and restore. Click the restore button and wait for it to complete. That’s all it takes.

What if my Stealth 700 Gen 2 won’t turn on?

If you are struggling with the first reset method because your Turtle Beach headset won’t turn on, there may be a couple of reasons.

The first and most likely reason is that it’s dead. The Stealth 700 headset is powered by a rechargeable Lithium polymer battery. Try recharging your headset if it won’t turn on.

Another option is that there is something wrong with the headset firmware. If you’re sure it isn’t a battery issue and you have all three of the following symptoms, you may need to use the recovery tool.

Both versions have the same warning signs that mean you need to attempt using the Turtle Beach recovery tool. These warning signs include:

  • Headset won’t turn on
  • LED indicator does not light up
  • Unresponsive headset

If you don’t have all three symptoms, something else is wrong. If you do, there are fixes. It is important to note that these fixes are specific to different Stealth 700 Gen 2 versions.

As the instructions are complex and require specific links, I will direct you to the Turtle Beach website.

If you have the Stealth 700 Gen 2 Xbox version, follow the instructions on their site here.

If you have the Stealth 700 Gen 2 PS version, follow the instructions on their site here.

These are two common fixes for when your Stealth 700 won’t turn on. Hopefully one of the above works for you. If neither do, reach out to Turtle Beach customer support.

How to pair my Stealth 700 Gen 2 again?

After a hard reset, your headset will not be paired to any devices. If you paired them before you should remember how to do it again, but if not, here’s a reminder.

On Xbox

Pairing an Xbox Stealth 700 to its respective console can be done with a couple of button presses.

While the headset is on, press the enroll button on the Xbox. Next, hold down the connect button on your Stealth 700. At this point, there should be flashing lights on both the headset and console.

When the lights stop flashing and show a solid light your headset is paired.

On Playstation

Pairing your headset to the console on the other side of the console war is simple as well.

In most cases, you will just need to plug the wireless transmitter into one of your Playstation’s USB ports. This is because the transmitter and headphones are paired before you purchase them.

However, if you’ve reset your headphones, you may need to pair the headset to the transmitter again. You will know if it needs to be paired again if the transmitter is flashing twice in rapid succession.

With the transmitter plugged into a turned-on Playstation and the headset turned off, hold down the headset’s power button for roughly 5 seconds. Once the headset’s LED indicator flashes blue it is searching for the transmitter.

When the LED indicators on both the transmitter and the headset light up, you will know that they are paired.

On mobile

Lastly, here’s how to pair your headset using Bluetooth. This is definitely one of the easier methods since you just have to hit one button then select it on the mobile device.

You will need both the headset and mobile device on and within range for this to work. First, press and hold the Bluetooth button on your headset. You can release the button when it plays a prompt.

Next, you just need to go to the device’s Bluetooth settings and find the name of the headset. Then just tap the name of the headset.
