Unlike Skullcandy earbuds, the pairing process for Skullcandy headphones is similar across all Skullcandy headphone models.

Hold the power button for 4-5 seconds while the headphone is turned off. Afterward, your headphones should be able to pair. Next, go to your MacBook. Select the Apple icon in the top-right corner, then System Preferences, and select Bluetooth. Select the Skullcandy headphones from the list, and click ‘Connect’.

And that’s it! Your Skullcandy headphones should now be paired to your Macbook.

Is there a way to connect wired headphones to a MacBook?

This is an understandable query to ask, considering the fact that a lot of Apple devices (and other brands) are coming out with new devices that lack a headphone jack. This means that wired headphones cannot work with them, unless they also have Bluetooth capabilities. Despite being an Apple product, the MacBooks still come with a headphone jack built into them. Thus, all you need to do is plug the headphones into the jack.

While wireless Skullcandy headphones are able to connect to the MacBook via Bluetooth, they are also able to connect via a cord. You can plug an aux cable into the headphones, which allows you to use them the same as you would a wired pair of headphones.

Do Skullcandy headphones work with all MacBook models?

One thing you might be worried about is whether certain MacBook devices do not work with Skullcandy headphones. There are multiple MacBook models available, including the MacBook, MacBook Air, and MacBook Pro. These devices have their differences, but the good news is that they have the ability to connect with all kinds of Skullcandy headphones. All three versions have both headphone jacks and Bluetooth compatibility.

Does Skullcandy make speakers?

While Skullcandy is well known for their headphones and earbuds, they are also well known for their speakers. If you want to improve your MacBook’s audio volume and output quality, you can use one of Skullcandy’s Bluetooth speakers. To connect Skullcandy speakers to your MacBook, you have to go through a similar process to Skullcandy’s other devices. Depending on the type of speaker, you may have to either hold the power button or the pairing button, as some combine the power and pairing into a single button. This is atypical compared to other Skullcandy devices, most of which combine the two functions.

Hold either the power or pairing button for 4-5 seconds until the LED light begins to flash. Once this is done, repeat the steps you did for the headphones and earbuds, keeping an eye out on the Bluetooth section of your MacBook’s Settings page for the Skullcandy speakers.

Why aren’t my Skullcandy devices pairing with my MacBook?

A common reason why your Skullcandy devices may not be pairing with your MacBook is simply because they are out of power. Of course, this is a very simple fix, as all you need to do is charge them. Give them adequate time to charge, and then try again. Another thing that could be causing it is if one or more devices have their volume set low or off. Again, another very easy fix – just pump up the volume!

You may also be experiencing issues with Bluetooth connectivity. In these situations, it will often be the case that you cannot connect the device at all to your MacBook. Make sure that both your MacBook and Skullcandy device have Bluetooth enabled, are adequately charged, and have the volume set to normal. If Airplane is enabled on your MacBook, you might be wondering whether that will affect your Bluetooth connectivity. Thankfully, even if you have Airplane mode enabled, you can still use Bluetooth. Airplane mode is meant to turn off radios and transmitters, but you can individually enable Bluetooth and/or Wi-Fi while Airplane mode is enabled.

It is also possible that there may be something preventing your Bluetooth from working properly. Objects and other signals can interrupt Bluetooth signals, which may cause the devices to have a spotty Bluetooth connection. A good way to do this would be to make sure that both the MacBook and Skullcandy device are near each other (around five feet would be most ideal), but also that you mind your surroundings. Metal objects and electronics are capable of interrupting your Bluetooth signal, so be careful of that.

If, despite doing all the above steps, one or both of your devices are not working properly, you may need to get them repaired or replaced. Depending on when you purchased the Skullcandy device, you may be able to get a replacement covered by warranty, so long as it meets the warranty limitations. For instance, the warranty that your Skullcandy headphones come with will likely only cover defects, not damage that you caused.
