The Ring Stick Up battery lasts around six months with extreme usage and around twelve months with lower usage. And It takes around 6 to 8 hours for you to fully re-charge the battery from 0 to 100%.
The good news is you also have multiple options for keeping your Cam going even when in charge. One option would be to purchase Ring’s compatible adapter & convert your Stick up Cam into a wired cam. This allows you to connect your device to a standard power outlet and take advantage of constant power.
Alternatively, Ring sells Stick up Cam batteries separately, so if you’ve noticed that your battery health has degraded over time or you would just like to get a spare battery, that would be another option.
How to Charge Your Ring Stick Up Cam Battery
The Ring app alerts you when your battery is low, you may also get a notification via email. All you would need to do is charge your device’s battery to get it up and running again. Here’s How:
- First, remove the battery cover by twisting it counterclockwise. ( if you’ve installed the security screw, you’ll need to remove that first via the included screwdriver).
- Press on the battery tab and slide it out of the compartment.
- Plug in the charging cable into your Ring Stick up cam battery, and simply wait for it to charge.
You’ll notice that a red and green LED will light up when charging. When the red LED fades away, and you are left with just the green one is an indication that your device is fully charged.
All you would need to do now is place the battery back in, wait for around 30 seconds for your Stick-up Cam to prepare and you should be good to go.
How to Install Your Ring Stick Up Cam Battery
The first thing you’ll need is the ring app. If you don’t have it installed, simply navigate to the AppStore, search for “Ring,” and then download the app. Once installed, you’ll want to select Setup a device, then select “Security Cams”, next scan the bar code located in your device’s battery compartment, then simply place the battery into the compartment and attach the compartment cover by twisting it, and that’s it your device should be all setup.
Do You Need Wi-Fi to Use The Ring Stick Up Cam
You will need a Wi-Fi connection in order to utilize the Ring Stick Up Cam’s features. Primarily you will need at least 2 Mbps for the device to work effectively & should ensure your device is within 30 feet from your router.
Alternatively, you can use your mobile hotspot, which can be useful in certain situations to keep your device running.
Can the Ring Stick Up Cam Get Wet?
Yes, The ring Stick up Cam is weather resistant, meaning it can get wet, so you’ll be able to use it both indoors and outdoors. However, that’s not to say that the Cam is immune to water damage. A substantial amount of water or exposure to extreme humidity can have a negative impact on your device.
It’s also important to note that rain can affect picture quality, so you will want to add a protective cover on your Cam or place it in an area where the lens won’t be affected as much. Additionally, you will want to wipe down the lens with a dry cloth right after exposure to rain.
