The most common reason for Fitbit not to be counting your steps is because it’s not synced correctly. In other cases, it can be that your placement settings haven’t been set up, your device’s firmware may not be up to date, or you may simply need to restart your device.

  4. While you’re in the settings, look over your personal data and ensure it is correct.
  5. You may need to measure your stride step and input that into your Fitbit.
  6. Always update your Fitbit when it’s time. Ignoring an update may affect all of your data, not just your steps.
  7. Switch your GPS off.

  • Models Charge 5, Luxe, Sense, Versa 2, and Versa 3 have the option to turn off the Always On Display Setting.
  • The more notifications that come to your Fitbit, the more the battery has to work. If you can turn off the unnecessary notifications, you will see considerable battery life changes.
  • Certain things drain batteries faster than others. Decrease the time you use the music control and apps, on-wrist calls, Fitbit Pay, and GPS. If possible, don’t use them at all. 
  • The clock face designs are diverse and awesome. But, the animated ones will lead to frequent charging. 
  • SpO2 data takes a long of power because it is constantly running. Some people may have to track that part of their health. However, unless you use the information, turn it off.
  • Unless the Fitbit is on your wrist, just turn it off.

The biggest takeaway from the list of tips is that if you aren’t using a feature, just disable it. It makes a ton of difference when it comes to battery life.
