Does Hulu have Demon Slayer Dubbed?

Demon Slayer is a relatively recent anime, but despite that recentism, it has become wildly popular and a mainstream success worldwide. Starring Tanjiro Kamado and his sister Nezuko Kamado, having survived the slaughter of their family, they journey to both grow stronger and find a way to cure the demonic curse that plagues Nezuko. Demon Slayer is available to watch on Hulu, but some are curious: can you watch the English dub of the show there?

Demon Slayer is available on Hulu , and every episode is also available in English Dub. However, if you want to watch more than the first season, regardless of if you’re watching in Japanese or English, you will have to go through a little more effort to find them. This is because Demon Slayer’s arcs are not all listed on the same page and need to be searched individually.

Does Hulu have Demon Slayer Dubbed?

Every episode of Demon Slayer is available to watch on Hulu, though only 33 of the episodes are dubbed in English. As an added issue for Hulu subscribers to grapple with, navigating between the various Demon Slayer content on Hulu is not the easiest thing to do. There are three things that come up when you search for Demon Slayer on Hulu:

  • Demon Slayer Kimetsu No Yaiba
  • Demon Slayer: Kimetsu No Yaiba Mugen Train Arc
  • Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Entertainment District Arc

These three Demon Slayer listings are, in order, what is currently available of the anime. What is annoying is that each does not link to the other, meaning that a person may very well think that Hulu is missing episodes. By comparison, Crunchyroll links to all arcs of the series, as well as the movie (discussed below), the latter being unavailable on Hulu.

What is Demon Slayer about?

Demon Slayer is a heavier story than some other anime of its genre, but it is not without its lighthearted elements. Tanjiro Kamado returns to find his family having been slaughtered by demons, discovering that only his little sister, Nezuko Kamado, survived. He brings her to receive care, only to discover that her wounds had caused her to transform into a demon.

Tanjiro is now primarily motivated by a desire to save his sister from this curse, while growing strong enough to protect her and himself in the process. He and Nezuko meet a wide variety of characters through their adventure, both good and bad, giving us one of the best casts in anime history (in our opinion, anyway).

Is the Demon Slayer manga complete?

While there is a lot of longer-running manga out there that are going to this day (One Piece started in 1997 for heaven’s sake!), Demon Slayer is not one of them. This may certainly be sad to learn for fans, knowing that there is a hard time limit for when the anime will no longer have new episodes (unless they find reason to elongate it). Demon Slayer started back in 2016 as a manga, and ended a couple years ago in May 2020 with 23 volumes in total.

This is nothing to shake a stick at, but for as good as Demon Slayer is, it is a bit of a shame that there is not more content to look forward to in the manga. Still, at least we can enjoy what the anime provides. But will they even be making more seasons?

Is Demon Slayer getting more seasons?

The second season of Demon Slayer came out fairly recently in the summer of 2021 (only ending in February 2022), and despite that, the excellent writing, animation, characters, and story saw people all too excited to see even more of it. While the third season of Demon Slayer is still a ways off (genius takes time to create after all), the good news is that it is, at the very least, in the works. The unfortunate news is that there is no confirmed release date for the season, but hey, we are sure that it will be well worth the wait.

It wouldn’t be the first time a manga failed to be fully adapted, so worrying that this may be the case with Demon Slayer is not entirely irrational. For example, the hit manga Bleach is actually getting an anime adaptation later in October 2022, finally adapting the final arc of the manga after all these years. One of the reasons why Bleach itself may have taken as long as it did to complete is because it was particularly notorious for filler content, and it unfortunately fell off some in terms of popularity.

Do you need to watch the Demon Slayer movie to enjoy the second season?

Another important thing for people who want to watch Demon Slayer is that, in addition to the anime series, there is also a feature-length anime film called “Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – The Movie: Mugen Train” that serves as a sequel to the first season, leading into the second. If you think that you can skip it, well… actually, you absolutely can! While we do not think it is the best idea, you can enjoy season 2 perfectly well having not seen a single second of Mugen Train.

Mugen Train was a hugely popular film upon release, both in Japan and the United States, to the point that it is the most popular Japanese film of all time (anime or otherwise). This is pretty impressive, considering that the previous record holder, “Spirited Away,” had held on the record for more than 15 years. The success of Mugen Train owed to the sheer popularity of the Demon Slayer anime and manga, sure, but being a great movie was a necessary ingredient for success.

So while you can absolutely enjoy season 2 without having watched Mugen Train, we believe that you are doing yourself a disservice by skipping it. The only issue with trying to watch it though is the fact that the movie itself is not available to watch on Hulu at this moment.
