Once you have selected this, you will be prompted to enter your username and password. Once they have been entered, the Apple TV app will be authorized with your Mac computer. If you are experiencing difficulties getting the app to authorize on your Mac, it may be due to your Mac being too old. A Mac computer running any version older than macOS 10.15 Catalina will be unable to complete these steps.

Once you have finished the authorization process, you will need to input your login information once again in order to actually sign in to the app. Once you are signed in, you will have access to all previously purchased content made through the Apple TV app.

How many devices can you authorize the Apple TV app on in total?

Apple has a hard limit as far as how many devices they allow you to have authorized at any one time. But what is that limit? Well, Apple allows you to authorize the Apple TV app for up to five devices at once. If you need to deauthorize the Apple TV app on a different device, there are two approaches you can take.

The first is to open iTunes to deauthorize a device. Once you have iTunes open, select Account, and then select the Authorizations menu. Select Deauthorize This Computer, and then log in. Once you have logged in, select Deauthorize. The other option is to go to Account, then select View My Account. Once again, log in to your account (using the same account that was used to authorize the app), go to the Apple ID Summary, and select Deauthorize All. This will allow you to deauthorize every device currently authorized, ensuring that you can authorize more current devices. However, if you do not see the Deauthorize All option, this means that you only have one device currently authorized.

What to do if you forgot your Apple ID or password?

If you want to authorize Apple TV for an Apple device, you may be wondering whether there is any way to recover your information. Thankfully, there is a way to do this. If you don’t remember what your Apple ID’s password is, there are two ways you can fix that. The first is, on a device where you are logged into Apple ID (such as an iPhone or an iPad), go to the Settings section, choose your name, and then select Password & Security. Next, tap Change Password, and choose a password that is both secure and something you can remember.

The other option is to select the Forgot Apple ID or Password option when trying to log in with your Apple ID, or on your iPhone or iPad. When you do this, you will be given an option to reset your password in your email inbox. This can also be done on the iCloud or Apple ID website. You will also get this if you need to reset your Apple ID. However, if you have enabled two-factor authentication, you may have to go through additional steps to get your password changed. If you want to see your Apple ID, you can also look on the devices you are logged into to see what it is.

If you are having trouble getting these steps to work, get in contact with Apple support to get it fixed. They may also be able to directly send the reset password or remind you of your Apple ID.

What is the difference between the Apple TV app and the Apple TV device?

One point of confusion that sometimes comes up with the Apple TV app is whether it is distinct from the Apple TV device. Well, we are here to tell you that they are indeed separate things, although you can use the Apple TV app – also known as Apple TV Plus or Apple TV+ – on your Apple TV device itself. Apple TV Plus requires a recurring subscription (either monthly or yearly), while the Apple TV is a flat payment for ownership of the device. Basically, the Apple TV device is more comparable to a device like a Roku TV or Fire TV.
