Samsung vs. Sony–Which Brand is Better?

Samsung and Sony are arguably some of the best TVs on the market and come at a premium price. Purchasing a TV from one of these manufacturers is certainly an investment, but you’ll get top-notch visual quality, audio, and smart TV capabilities. Therefore, it’s hard to say which brand is better, as they both offer some of the best entertainment options. However, there are some differences you should consider when deciding which TV is right for you.

Each brand uses a different operating system–Samsung uses Tizen OS, while Sony uses Android TV. The latter has more content and menu panes compared to Samsung, but it can be a bit cluttered. Tizen OS beats Android TV when it comes to search functions.

When it comes to picture quality, Sony TVs come out on top. Sony uses Dolby Vision, which is more advanced than Samsung’s HDR10+. Dolby Vision is used by other brands including Vizio, TCL, and Hisense.

As for audio, both brands are hard to beat. Sony is literally a music technology company, so you can be assured that their sound quality reigns supreme. Sony uses Acoustic Surface Audio technology, which actually vibrates the TV panel to emit sound. Samsung uses Object Tracking Sound, which captures movement on screen to deliver precise audio quality.

Overall, both brands deliver high-quality pictures, audio, and functionality. It comes down to budget, size, and preferences for your home viewing experience.

What 65-Inch TVs with 4K Resolution are Most Affordable?

Today, most TVs are being made with 4K resolution. This means that they have 4x the picture clarity of the typical 1080p display, and over 8 million individual pixels. 4K resolution delivers crisp, defined images with a brilliant array of colors.

The most affordable 65-Inch 4K TVs are made by Vizio, Philips, and Hisense. You can find a 65” TV for about $500 or less, which is about a 3rd of the price of most Sony or Samsung 65” TVs. You will also need to decide if you want OLED, QLED, or LED. These terms explain how the pixels on the TV are illuminated. OLED is known to be the brightest, as the pixels are self-lit and can deliver deep blacks and bright hues on an individual basis. QLED and LED are very similar as the pixels are backbit, but QLED has an added quantum dot layer that uses tiny phosphorescent crystals.
