If you’re new to JBL earbuds or headphones, pairing your device can seem tricky at first but don’t worry. It just takes a few seconds to pair your device. Troubleshooting your device if they don’t seem to connect is also a simple process. Let’s dive in!

How To Pair JBL Earbuds to any device

  1. Turn on Bluetooth on your device. On iPhone: Settings-> Bluetooth-> on. On Android:  Menu key > Settings > Bluetooth-> Toggle on. 
  2. Now open your earbuds case & remove just the right earbud to initiate pairing.
  3. Go back to your Bluetooth menu on your device & select your JBL earbuds.
  4. Remove the left earbuds from the case & it will automatically pair with your right earbuds.

JBL Earbuds not pairing automatically?

There may be occasions where your earbuds don’t pair automatically, all you would need to do to solve the issue is:

  1. manually turn off the earbuds by taking out the right earbuds and holding down the button for 5 seconds
  2. then turn the earbuds back on by holding the button for 2-5 seconds to automatically set them to pairing mode (earbuds will blink to indicate it’s on pairing mode)
  3. on your phone or any other Bluetooth device select your JBL earbuds on the Bluetooth list.
  4. tap connect & you’re done!

JBL one earbud not pairing?

A common issue among earbuds is one earbud pairs to your device while the other gets left behind. To fix this simply:

  • on your phone or Bluetooth device “forget your device” from your Bluetooth list.
  • turn off Bluetooth on your device.
  • now grab both earbuds and press and hold the button for 8 and release until you hear a sound notifying their turned off.
  • Now grab only the left earbuds and turn it on by holding the button for 2 seconds (Blue light should be blinking)
  • now rapidly press the button on only the left earbuds three times. (Your earbuds should be blinking blue & white)
  • Now turn on your right earbud by holding for 2 seconds
  • once turned on press the button 3 times (earbuds should blink blue & white)
  • both earbuds will now initiate pairing among one another
  • if the left earbuds just blinks blue this indicates that earbuds are now paired to one another (right earbuds will still blink blue & white)
  • Turn on Bluetooth on your phone or Bluetooth device
  • Select your earbuds & connect.

Your earbuds should now be paired to your device.

How do you use JBL wireless earbuds?

The first thing you’ll need to be aware of is how to charge your device; you need to charge both the case and the earbuds themselves. To charge the earbuds, just place them in the case, and an LED light will turn on, indicating earbuds are charging. To charge the case, you will need to plug in the provided charging cable into the case’s charging port.

It takes around 2 hours to charge the case from 0% to 100%, & 1 hour & fifteen minutes for the earbuds themselves; however, this varies depending on the type of JBL earbuds you own. As for the battery life, Some have an earbuds battery life of 6 hours & a case battery life of 15 hours, while others exceed that.

Now let’s take a look at the earbuds shortcut button functionality. Your earbuds contain a button on each side where the JBL logo is embedded in order to provide you with quick and easy functionality without having to pull out your device every time you want to have control of your song selection or assistant features. Let’s take a look at all of the button functionality:

  • Tapping the right earbuds once -> Play/pause music & answer/hang up on calls.
  • Double tapping your right earbuds -> will prompt your voice assistant.
  • Pressing and holding the button for 2 seconds -> mutes the microphone – repeating the process will unmute
  • Tapping your left earbuds once -> will skip the track.
  • Tapping on your left earbuds twice -> will repeat your current track or to the previous track.
  • Pressing & holding the button for 5 seconds on each earbuds -> will manually turn off your earbuds – repeating the process will turn them back on.

How do you pair JBL Bluetooth headphones?

  1. Turn on Bluetooth on your device. On iPhone: Settings-> Bluetooth-> on. On Android:  Menu key > Settings > Bluetooth-> Toggle on. 
  2. Turn on your JBL headphones then press & hold the power button for a few seconds to enter pairing mode.
  3. Your headphones LED will then proceed to blink blue indicating that the device is on pairing mode
  4. On your phone or Bluetooth device select your JBL headphones and connect

Your headphones should now be paired to your device.

Why won’t my JBL headphones connect to Bluetooth?

As with all Bluetooth devices, there may be a moment where your experience pairing issues. In most cases resetting your device will solve this problem.

To reset your JBL headphones, press and hold the volume up and volume down buttons on your JBL headphones right earcup for 20 seconds. When complete, a sound will appear indicating your device has been reset.

How do you use JBL wireless headphones?

First, let’s start with charging your device. To charge your device, simply plug in the provided cable to your device’s charging port. While the battery life & charging duration vary depending on the type of JBL headphones you own, on average, it takes 2 hours to charge and has a 16-hour battery life (can be slightly higher or lower depending on the type of JBL headphones you own).

Next, you will notice on the side of your headphones is an on/off switch which is used for the Bluetooth functionality; if listening to your headphones with a wire, you don’t need battery whatsoever and will not need to turn your headphones on.

Next, you’ll notice volume control buttons in order to provide you with quick and easy access to your device’s controls. Here are the shortcuts you will need to know:

  • + button -> increase volume
  • – -> decrease volume
  • Hold + button for 2 seconds -> Skip track
  • Hold – button for 2 seconds -> replay track
  • circle icon button (located in the middle) -> play/pause
  • Tap circle button icon once when phone is ringing -> picks up phone call
  • Tap circle button icon twice when phone is ringing -> rejects up phone call
  • tap circle button twice -> activates your voice assistant

Next is battery life; in order to see how much battery your headphones have remaining, you’ll need to install the JBL headphones app; it’s available for both Android & Apple users. Once you connect your headphones to the app, you’ll be presented with your headphone’s current battery status upon opening the app.
