Does Apple TV Come With HDMI Cable?

Apple, one of the leading electronic companies in the entire world, founded by Steve Jobs on April 1st, 1976, is known throughout the entire planet as a producer, creator, and seller of various kinds of devices ranging from computers, phones, TVs, music, and so much more.

To say that Apple is a giant is an honest to god understatement, and its only known rivals are the Sony brand and Amazon in its scope. Google alone may stand as a king, but for electronic devices, Apple may stand at the top.

So, what does that little info bit have to do with anything? Well, it’s to tell you that, contrary to Apple’s services and Iphones that come with cables, the Apple TV, a media player designed to allow users to play streaming services such as Netflix and Hulu, does not come with an HDMI cable.

Though, in some retrospect, it doesn’t need one.

See, the Apple TV is a wireless device designed around broadcasting to a TV via a transceiver, but, in order to get the best video, you need an HDMI cable.

The Apple TV may not be sold with cables under the belief that they, that being the HDMI cable in question, are fairly common. Which does make a fair amount of sense.

HDMI cables are rather common, and are often sold with a variety of products such as the Mircosoft Xbox series, the PlayStation products, other TVs, and can be bought pretty much anywhere.

Another explanation is that, in this sense, the Apple TV doesn’t need one, as it is wireless, and it is common sense that you shouldn’t need to package something that you would have no use for.

Cost-cutting, in other words.

Plus, the cables Apple does sell with their products are not cheap, and HDMI cables, despite being numerous, are not cheap either. A single HDMI cable can cost as much as 27 dollars, now imagine having to make the thing.

That’s components, style, specifications, and length.

Now imagine ordering those on a billion scale. For better or worse, it does make some sense.

To that end, other Apple products do not come with an HDMI cable, most likely for the reasons stated above, and that if you want an HDMI cable, you’d best go find one yourself.

And, as stated before, the Apple TV is wireless. So including an unnecessary cable with it does make sense.

That all said, if you do have an HDMI cable just lying around, took one from another device, or went out and bought one, you should find that Apple TV works just as well, if not better, with Wired the Wireless.

If you have an HDMI cable, there should be an insert port near the back, and since it’s so small, you should be able to place it near anywhere you want.

Apple TV streaming

The Apple Tv, itself, is a small black box paired with a remote, and once you have it all set up, you can select a variety of streaming services, such as Apple TV, the app not the device.

Apple TV, the app, has numerous shows, such as Yellowstone, The Walking Dead, and Mayans. So, if you have purchased the Apple Tv and accompanying app, then you should be set to watch a variety of your favorite, or upcoming shows.

That said, you do want to keep the device out of harm’s way, as many things can damage it. The Apple TV is small, and while that’s a boon when it comes to finding a spot, that makes it easy to overlook.

For example, let’s say you’re moving a cupboard or cabinet where the Apple TV is stored. You go to pick it up in whatever manner you do, and it angles to the side. The next thing you know, the Apple TV falls out, and it breaks.

In addition, your pet, particularly if they’re a large breed, may decide that the little black box might make a good chew toy, a cat might decide to knock it over just to get your attention, and birds, if you have one, might just fly over to it just to stand on it.

You should be wary that your pets don’t try to make it their plaything, but, so long as you reinforce the image that the Apple TV is not a toy, then you should be fine.

Like any other electronic device, you should try to keep it away from water, or at least, keep it from being fully submerged. I know that sounds preposterous, as it would take deliberate action to have the Apple TV thrown into something that could sink it completely.

But, should you live in an area where floods can happen, such as Houston, be sure to keep your Apple TV somewhere decently high. But, then again, should flooding occur, your first concern should be making sure you and your loved pens are safe.

And of course, the Apple TV does need an internet connection in order to work. Something commonplace now, but remains as the fact most users need to be aware of. So be sure to place the Apple TV device in a good spot where it can pick up bandwidth easily.

If you can’t, try a wired connection to a router, or a tv for better coverage. It also might just be a case of turning it off and on again until you get a connection.

So, let’s have a Recap

Apple Tv, the device, does not come with an HDMI cable, but it does have a lot of features to use and comes with its own wireless function. If you want a wired connection between it and whatever device you use for bandwidth, you’ll need to find an HDMI cable yourself.

HDMI cables can be found in many stores, and are often paired with other electronic devices that require a tv connection.

Finally, be sure that the TV you’re hooking it up to does have an Internet connection on its own, otherwise, it may not work.
